Last night I watched a movie called the Visioneers with Zach Galifianakis as the lead character of a man who had dreams that he was George Washington. The movie is a dark comedy with everyone worrying about exploding so the government has all these ways of cheering them up to prevent them from doing so. This even includes little monitors that attach to the person's neck to rid them of any sadness or feeling other than happiness. George works for a company that seems to have taken over the world called The Jeffers Corporation whose logo of cleverly situated buildings looks like someone flipping the bird. George is married to a woman who is also void of feelings and looks to a daily talk show to find happiness. At work, George speaks with a woman at a different level named, Charisma. Even though he never sees her face to face before her termination, he falls in love with the brightness she brings him even in the form of smiley faces on the daily assignments. Happiness is being happy, finally states the daily talkshow and George goes to see Charisma. He knows that he loves her and that it would be wrong to be with her since not only is he married, but also has a son who are both drones of the current times. The president of The Jeffers corporation comes to visit George in response to a survey at his job and tells him that the only way to be happy is to kill the thing he loves. He goes after Charisma again, taking her to his boat with knife in hand. She turns on the radio who is ending their run of playing music because of government order and turns around with tears in her eyes. They embrace and the scene switches to them waking up in the morning side by side on the boat, happy. George gets up and walks to the front of the boat to wave to the small boat crossing that happens to resemble the George Washington and company that is present from his dreams.

First of all, I want a Nikon D70.

With the recent influx of money I have had, I want to buy a few things that I need for me. First, a Nikon D70. I want to create images again. My photography usually produced something I was proud of, and I don't have that anymore.

I've also set my sights on Los Angeles. My idea of it is what brings me wanting to be there. A warm, but not too warm breeze over a city that seems to be stuck in the time frame of either a sunrise or sunset at all times of the day. Every evening ending with a walk on a beach or apartment rooftop looking up at the sky. A romantic city that doesn't have commitments. My goal is to finish school and end up there with the semester in LA program, and then not come back.

I want a new tattoo, but I want something extremely well thought out. I have plenty of ideas, but not a solid decision. I'll just have to see what happens there. I don't want something big either.

I changed my livejournal layout as well. Something simple and bright.

    <lj:music>Show Me What I'm Looking For</lj:music>

I have been planning next semester's classes and next semester is going to be great with saving money on transportation and sleeping in late. I get to take three classes online: Accounting, Writing for Managers, and Managerial Economics. Then, one class that I'm really excited about on the campus, Producing Recorded Music. It's a five hour class that only meets one and a half months and teaches you everything a producer does. It's hands-on and observation in a recording environment that teach you about microphones, recording personnel, planning budgets and logistical issues, producing aesthetics, the union, and then they throw in basic music theory. That one I should have a handle on already.

That means, after October 22nd, I don't even have to go to Chicago for classes until Spring '10 semester.

My design job is going pretty awesome. We uploaded the site to the interwebz today and now we're tweaking it before it's finished. It's really exciting because it has the ability to grow into something huge. If you want to see the very beginning, check out robooto.com.

It's almost 6AM, the birds are chirping and my head is groggy. Goodnight.

PS: "Police: Target employee takes $4,033, blames it on 'little voice'

VALPARAISO | An employee of Target in Valparaiso told police a "little voice" told him "you need gas money," so he stole $4,033 cash and several pieces of merchandise from the store.

Caleb Webb, 20, of Rensselaer, was arrested Wednesday on a felony theft charge after he was accused of stealing $4,033, seven DVD movies and a $60 video game. Seeing Katy Perry was so much fun and was definitely not expected. Problems with my relationship had me about lose my mind. So I've been packing them up and shoving them to a hole somewhere. I just don't even want to think about it. Stress with school has been driving me crazy. This spring break was needed so badly. I was getting behind in work with my designing job which also stressed me out a bit. I've been trying to workout as much as I can, and have sort of kept with it. It's hard to stick to when my work schedule is all over the place. My week ended with a concerned message from Butch himself on myspace that seemed to level out everything, for now.

As time goes on, I realize I am much more of an independent person than I thought. I do not like to rely on anyone for anything. In fact, I hate it. I'm not a cuddly person. I'm not girly. I'm not the type of person that likes to get close to anyone. I'm very determined at times and I don't like when people around me aren't.

I have so many major goals that I want to accomplish and I feel like my surroundings are only delaying that. I think it's partly that I'm not as motivated as I could be with the stress I have, but I also blame it on things I shouldn't. There are sort of 'enablers' in my life that I need to deal with.

Looking in from the outside, people would look at going to shows to enjoy the band live, go home, new day. To me, it's different. I saw Butch in Grand Rapids last night and it struck me much differently than before. I become motivated and want to do something for me. Butch is just my example, but I'm sure this can be applied to anyone's favorite band.. but, I see what impact he has had on his fans lives. I see how he has such a good time playing music with his friends and is so grateful that people allow him to do that. When you talk to him, he listens. I think beyond the type of music he makes, the type of person he is brings so many people to become fans.

I want that. I want to do it on my own terms and with my own brain.

This probably doesn't make much sense to someone who isn't me, but I needed to say it for some reason.

It's been quite awhile since I updated. On top of being in love with my new MacBook, I've been pretty busy in general. Not to mention pretty sick for almost two weeks that has thrown me for a loop.

Development on the first blog I've been working on has been going smoothly. All though I was getting stuck at the point that it looked so blank because there was no content yet. I've been working with some pre-made templates and developing them for our needs. Pretty fun stuff. I'll post a link to the finished product when it goes live.

Working on this and researching different ad revenue techniques have sparked interest in creating my own blog for a source of income. This, of course, wouldn't be a personal blog because I'm quite boring of a person, haha. So, I've decided on a general topic of things that I am interested in and what many others already search for on the internet. So, with researching some different blogs already live and what they make daily (http://www.websiteoutlook.com) I've come up with an idea of combining everything beauty, fashion, and health-wise like exercise and healthy eating for women into a blog. I'm going to combine it with layout that would also be appealing to those visiting it and hopefully create something huge.

With all this going on and being sick, I've gotten a little behind in school stuff. I'm almost caught up now, with just one assignment being late. After that, I'm hoping to come up with a better schedule for getting things done. I want to get things done much earlier than for example, the day before they are due!

I went ahead and got a wireless mouse for design uses, but I found out a way to right click! Just have two fingers on the finger pad and THEN click! Hah.

On the health front, I am getting into weight lifting rather than killing myself with cardio. I've been looking at how to eat in order to aid muscle building and what exercises are best. For that, I got a heart rate monitor watch, which is pretty cool.

GOT MY MAC: Review.

I haven't updated in awhile because I have been pretty busy with my jobs and school, but I finally got my MacBook a few days ago! Holy crap, I love it so much. Kyle asked for a review on facebook, so I'll post it right hurrr.

I bought it straight from the Apple store website. John told me to get a refurbished one because they are like brand new and certified, but I wanted to get the RAM upgrade and that wasn't available with a refurbished laptop. I wanted to not go overboard with it, so I stuck with the 13-inch White MacBook. It came to $999 and with my student discount, $949. With the RAM update, it tacked on $150, plus about $80 in taxes (ew). So, around $1200. I also ordered an Airport wireless device so that I can create a network here at home. I received them together extremely fast (2-3 business days) and it was extremely simple to set up. (Plus, the airport works with my old HP desktop.)

I didn't know how to set up my old desktop to work with the wireless network, so I googled it, and found out I needed to install it somehow. I decided upon the USB connection. The desktop is going to mainly be used for email, surfing the internet, and simple text editing documents, so I got a cheaper one for about $40 at Best Buy later that day. Worked perfectly. I set up the network extremely fast and it works just as needed. The only downside with that is that sometimes it disconnects and a reconnection prompt is displayed. All though, that only takes place when you are restarting the computer, gets unplugged, etc.

On to the laptop! It's just amazing. On my desktop, I could barely run Photoshop without major lag. A few minutes ago, I had Photoshop, Safari, Firefox, Vuze, GarageBand, AND iWeb running all at the same time without any lag whatsoever. I probably teared up a bit. I have had absolutely zero issues with lag, freezing up, installations, etc. The only problems I have encountered are adjusting to a Mac simply based on migrating over from a Windows platform.

For example, I am used to being able to maximize windows. Not so much over here. Also, those buttons are no longer on the right. They are on the left, and backwards. Thinking of right-clicking? Think again.. almost. I am starting to get used to it, but it's a bit more hassle to hit control-click and then select what you need.

Also, when you are installing something or working with new files, they are temporarily placed on the desktop as an icon. This is a bit annoying to me because they are also displayed with a downloads icon on the bottom dock. 'My Computer'? There is a round about way I have figured out to get to control panels and such, but it's getting used to it.

Another downside is not so much with the laptop, but with the limited availability of programs that run on the os x leopard platform. While not the end of the world, it does unveil some huddles to cross.

I'm still feeling around this thing, but so far, so good. It has a great sleek design, is light, never gets that warm, multiple USB ports, magnetic power cord tip(for easy port-finding), clean keyboard with no unnecessary keys.. plus much more.

There are very little negative aspects other than the fact that it's something you need to get used to if you are coming from a windows platform. It has those extra features that are known associates with Mac and unavailable to PC users.

So, A++++. :)

First of all, I ordered my MacBook and it should be here Wednesday, the 11th. I am so, so excited.

Second, I am slowly getting the hang of PHP because it is really useful for designing themes for Wordpress. It is so helpful, too.

I love this website: http://css-tricks.com/

Also, the more I learn about wordpress, the more I want to create my own blog that would serve a purpose. My livejournal is sort of like personal goings-on, and I think a wordpress blog could sort of create a bit of extra income based on what exactly I post about. This blog that I'm designing for my other job is going to be using google ads, and I think that could help myself out as well.

I have done a small amount of work for them so far, and one is actually notable. I added a type of gallery script that allows for the user to click on any piece's thumbnail and it will create this sort of lightbox effect for it. This can be seen here:
http://www.paulhenrysart.com/gallery.html
Just click on any piece. I'll be adding more of a slide show idea to it that would allow a user to scroll through the images from the light-boxed image. As in a 'next' and 'previous' button near the top.

My sleep schedule has been so screwed up yet again. I woke up at 9PM yesterday. This is really affecting my school work by getting me extremely behind. It wouldn't be that bad except all of my classes require a ton of reading.

I bought tickets to see Butch in Grand Rapidssss. So, that's three shows this tour. I am so lame. I want to get Honorary Title tickets for their show at the Metro, but we'll see about that.

Yeah, there were some people I could do without, but the day goes by so fast when you're making jokes and talking music with other people. Today was actually pretty funny because the girl that was supposed to do the closing announcement was laughing so hard and tried to stop to get on the intercom, and then preceded to laugh uncontrollably and loudly over the entire store for about a minute as we closed.

Kendal and Mike, who work with me there, want me to join Cardinal fitness with them, but I'm still unsure about it.
